As the head tennis coach at GWA and as a college and lifelong player myself, I can say that tennis is a lifetime sport. Whether you are 15 years old and competing for your school or 70 years old and part of ALTA or another recreational league, tennis is meant to be played at all ages.
Our varsity practices typically last 1-1/2 -2 hours, 4 days per week outside of matches, where we focus on improving our skills and strategies. We strive to play a competitive schedule every year against schools all over our area – both region and non-region. In the past few years, we have enjoyed some significant wins and have really strengthened our program with some players signing to play in college. Our varsity girls won the Region in 2019 and 2021 and lost after round 2 at State both years to very talented opposing teams. Our varsity boys were runners up at Region in 2021 and advanced to the first round of State that year as well.
