School-Wide Supports

The following school-wide support opportunities are in place to assist all students who may be having difficulties with a concept or that have a grade that they would like to improve.

Teacher Tutoring: Teachers provide tutoring sessions before and after school on designated days. It is up to the student to find out each teachers’ tutoring schedule and to attend the tutoring session. If a student needs assistance facilitating this conversation with the teacher, please see Mrs. Greene for help.

Peer Tutor Program:
-Peer tutors are available during every study hall in the Commons to assist every middle and high school student.
-The goal of a peer tutor is to help with a specific topic or assignment.
-Students can walk into the Commons for peer tutor help or can email Mrs. Greene to get set up with a peer tutor.

Private Tutorial Program: George Walton Academy has an extensive, and always growing, list of tutors ready to assist any student who is experiencing academic difficulty. This fee-based program is designed to help students improve study skills and/or content skills. It is designed to offer additional support, not to replace extra help that the classroom teachers offer before and after school.
-All participating tutors must be arranged, approved, and monitored by the PARC. Anyone interested in the private tutorial program should contact Jordan Greene.
