Gabby Rainford

Available: 1st Period

Hello! My name is Gabriel Rainford, but everyone calls me Gabby. This is my eleventh year attending George Walton Academy. I am part of a wonderful family of five people including my dad, mom, two younger brothers and me. My two younger brothers have been attending George Walton for some time as well. For the many years we have been here, the school has become a second home to my entire family and me. Some things that I love to do for fun include reading, painting, and simple arts and crafts. I am in the eleventh grade this year and am excited about whatever comes next through this exciting and sometimes stressful year. Some of my absolute favorite subjects in school are math and science. I love the topics discussed in both subjects and hope to continue my studies in both subjects in college.

I am most comfortable tutoring 9th or 10th grade for high school (any subject is fine) and I am confident in tutoring kids in lower or middle school in math, specifically. I love helping people in any way I can, and I believe the best way to do that at George Walton is through the amazing peer tutoring program.

Zack Wright

Available: 2nd Period

I am starting my senior year here at George Walton Academy. I’m very excited but also nervous about my senior year. I am one of two children, with my sister who is a sophomore this year. We have both been attending since our K4 year. In other words, we’ve been at George Walton for as long as we can remember. I’m currently working as an electrician in addition to coming to school here at GWA. I have been working for the same electrical company (also my dad’s company) since I was 14.

As a student here I am very good at math, and I am comfortable tutoring or teaching students at any grade level or in any math class I have taken. English, however, is different, as I can probably only tutor at a middle or low high school level. After graduating, I plan on attending college for an electrical engineering degree, although I’m not sure what school yet. I’d like to attend UGA, although my current plan is to go to UNG. After college, I will continue in electrical work at my father’s company, and I work to a higher status within it. Overall, I am very excited about my final year of high school and tutoring those in need for the rest of it.

Rosemary Ferguson

Available: 3rd Period

My name is Rosemary Ferguson. I live in a family of four and have a younger brother named Mac who is a freshman here at George Walton. We have two crazy dogs, Sammy and Milo, and a cat named Snickers, who is not very friendly. Some of my favorite things include going to the beach and lake, spending time with family and friends, and, of course, my favorite food, buffalo chicken dip! I cheer, play basketball, and play soccer as well as being extremely involved in student council and various other clubs. I am starting my 14th and final year at George Walton. I have always enjoyed English classes and writing essays has always been one of my strong suits. I hope to one day go into sports broadcasting and become a sideline reporter. I love being around kids and feel the most comfortable being a lower school tutor, but am happy and ready to help wherever I am needed!

Ashley Hill

Available: 3rd Period

My name is Ashley Hill, and I am currently a senior. I have a family of four including my older brother Graham, who is a sophomore at Georgia Tech, and we also have an Australian double doodle dog named Tucker who is four years old and 75 lbs. My favorite foods are Italian, Mexican, donuts, and honestly all sweets. In school, my best subjects are usually math and science; however, my writing skills aren’t horrible. I am comfortable with almost all grades when it comes to math and English. Meanwhile, in science I would probably be better at biology and middle school/lower school students.

I am involved in softball, basketball, and track at GWA, while also being involved in many clubs, like NHS, Beta, Mu Alpha Theta, student council, and Bible Bulldogs. I have been at GWA since 3rd grade and after graduating, I plan to attend Anderson University to play basketball. I enjoy playing sports and hanging out with friends as well! While in college, I plan to major in Kinesiology and then go on to PT school.

I play softball, basketball, lacrosse, and run track for the school as well as playing travel softball. I am going to be a senior this year at George Walton, and it is my 14th year here.

My favorite subject in school is definitely math. It has always been the easiest for me and been one of my stronger suits. I feel the most comfortable tutoring with lower school, but I am happy to help anyone. After high school, I plan to play college softball, and I’m still deciding what career path I'm leaning towards.

I have two siblings named Lauren, who is a sophomore, and Jordan who is in 5th grade. I love hanging out with my friends and my family because I love socializing. My favorite thing to do when I am bored is to go to a concert. I love listening to music, so going to a concert is my favorite. I love the color pink. Lucie Pulliam

Available: 5th Period

I am a junior this year, and I have been at George Walton for twelve years now, having started in K5. I have a passion for science, although I usually find myself with more of an affinity for math. I am an avid reader and a member of the book club as well as being a bit of a history nerd and therefore part of our Quiz Bowl (history trivia) team. I love working with children as I have many younger cousins, and I am more than willing to aid in any grade or subject in which a student might need assistance.

Following graduation, I plan to go into the medical field and aim for being a surgeon, likely steering towards the possibilities of a military surgeon career as my family has much history in the military, and while I, myself, have no interest in becoming an active soldier, I would like to be able to participate in the act of serving my country, namely by helping to aid wounded soldiers.

Jewel Miller

Available: 6th Period

My name is Jewel Miller, and this is my second year at GWA, and I am a senior. I have a brother that goes here. He is a sophomore and I have a 23-year-old sister who is a teacher and, of course, I have my mother and father. I have two dogs, one of them is my father’s dog and the other is shared between me and my sister; we have joint custody. My favorite things to do are binge-watch series, color and draw/art, and organize. My favorite colors are green and pink, and I love pasta, especially black spaghetti from “No. 246”.

My ultimate favorite subject is science because I just find it very interesting and not boring. Although, I am comfortable tutoring any subject and teaching middle and high schoolers. A fun fact about me is that I am really good at drawing and art in general, and I can also sing. I plan to attend college after GWA and get into medical school.
