Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Although Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an organization focusing on athletes that unite to share God’s Word, GWA's group is comprised of all students who wish to “unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel."  The organization's mission is to lead every person into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his/her church.  By cultivating relationships, FCA connects with teenagers in their individual journeys and through service-oriented events that offer opportunities to build trust and to share experiences with the gospel.  Students are equipped with Christ-centered training and resources to grow in their personal relationships with God and others.” (Fellowship of Christian Athletes 2015)

Each Thursday during block lunch, students gather informally to share Bible scripture.  Students enjoy hearing from a variety of resources: guests, such as youth pastors; faculty and staff; students; and videos.  The meetings are in Room 105, Mrs. Steele’s classroom, in the back hall of the main building.  This year, there are plans to complete service projects both on campus and in the local community.

Students may elect to come to the lunch gatherings on Thursday’s block schedule.  They do not have to sign up.  Leaders understand that their schedules may allow them to come only some Thursdays.  Usually, it is about fifteen minutes into lunch before the program begins, which allows students to purchase their lunches from the cafeteria.  Students may sign up for the Remind text by texting “@GWAFCA” to the number 81010.

The group hopes that all students will join in and see the fellowship and fun that is enjoyed as students gather to hear God’s word!  If you have any questions, feel free to email Mrs. Steele.
