Why choose George Walton Academy?
We could provide additional lists of information, details, and descriptions...but we would rather SHOW you why so many families choose GWA. We encourage you to watch these videos which will enable you to visit GWA virtually!
If you have any questions, we encourage you to contact our Director of Admissions:
Click HERE to begin the online application process. You will set up an application account and are able to return to your application as often as you wish until it is complete and submitted. The Records Release form and Teacher Evaluation forms are available to download on the instructions page of the application.
We are currently conducting remote online learning and campus is closed. Although "in person” tours are not available right now, we encourage you to view the "virtual visit" videos here on our website and contact our Admissions Office with questions: call 678-635-3810 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Once campus re-opens, we will schedule tours upon request.
We do require a family interview/visit to enable us to get to know your family and learn about your goals and wishes for your academic experience. While campus is closed, we are able to schedule virtual meetings/interviews at your convenience. Please contact our Admissions Office to schedule a time.
GWA believes that tuition should not be a barrier to admitting great students. We have a variety of needs-based and merit-based aid for new students. A link to financial aid information and to the application is provided to families once a student is accepted to GWA and completes the enrollment process.
GWA students interact virtually with their teachers and classmates daily via SeeSaw (lower school) and Google Hangouts (middle and upper school). For middle and upper school students, classes are live with a 30+ minute real-time virtual lesson along with classwork that is due by the end of class, or the following class period as homework. Learning continues to move forward as if students were on campus!
Our Athletic Director is awaiting guidance from Georgia High School Association on fall sports try-outs and work-outs. New students are able to participate in GWA fall sports try-outs and work-outs once they are enrolled in our school and have a valid sports physical on file with our administration.
The forms are in PDF format for sharing electronically, so feel free to forward them to your current school and teachers at your convenience so they can complete them as they are able. We will review your application once the admissions file is complete.
