The Director of Development reports to the Headmaster. Working closely with the school’s advancement team, Headmaster and GWA Board of Trustees, this individual will:
  • Conceive of and execute creative and flexible new strategies for outreach to prospective donors and strategic partners in order to achieve aggressive development goals.

  • Effectively promote the school to local and regional audiences in order to collaborate and establish strong relationships with other community organizations.

Specific responsibilities to advance these priorities include the following:
  • Direct the Annual Loyalty Fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives.

  • Work closely with other departments and school leadership teams to identify, cultivate and solicit donors on behalf of school.

  • Direct capital campaigns when needed.

  • Oversee grant applications, including research, proposal writing and follow up.

  • Coordinate and manage Corporate Partnership Program.

  • Coordinate, plan and implement on-campus and community events in order to promote constituent engagement.

  • Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems.

  • Maintain gift recognition programs through thank you letters, Annual Loyalty Fund Report and special events, including the Headmaster’s Dinner and Top Donor Party.

  • Coordinate, plan and implement Lucky Dawg Gala and Benefit Auction.

  • Write articles as needed for Bulldog Magazine and/or In Focus newsletter.

  • Keep information on fundraising and alumni activities current on GWA website.

  • Track and report all campus fundraising efforts by other groups and organizations.

  • Track and report alumni success stories.
